Dust it dry, wipe spills immediately, and feed it once or twice a year with a beeswax or clear paste wax, worked in and buffed off. Keep silicone sprays and boiled linseed oil off it entirely — silicone builds a haze that has to be stripped before anything else will take, and linseed darkens and gums as it ages. The beetle holes are old and inert and need nothing; if fine flour-like powder ever appears beneath the piece, isolate it and have it treated. Leave the iron alone — the dark finish on it is correct, and polishing it bright will make the cabinet look worse.
