Everything the form does it does with line, the profile drawn from a narrow foot out through a full belly and back in to a slightly flared rim, which is the whole point of the Revere shape and the reason it has been copied for two centuries.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spout is drawn out and cut back on the inside into an ice guard, the lip folded down so that a pitcher of iced water pours clear. The strap handle is applied at the rim and again low on the body, beaded along its outer edge and thumbed out at the lower terminal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe piece is in an uncleaned state. Tarnish lies across the body in bands of slate, gold and plum, deepest where the surface has been sheltered, with the handle and rim rubbed back to bright silver where hands have been. The 1883 is not a year of manufacture. It is the founding year of the firm, incorporated into a registered trademark alongside the crown, and it appears unchanged on F. B.
