The Piece
A vintage crystal luster candlestick with a scalloped bobeche, twisted column, ribbed pedestal base, and prism holes around the upper dish for adding hanging crystal drops. The form catches light from every angle, with fluted and spiral details that give the piece a bright, architectural sparkle.
The upper bobeche was designed not only to catch wax, but also to support decorative hanging prisms. Those small holes along the rim are intentional, allowing the piece to be dressed with crystal drops for a fuller luster effect.
History
Glass and crystal luster candlesticks developed from traditional mantle and table lusters, decorative candleholders often finished with hanging prisms to reflect candlelight. By the mid-20th century, these forms continued in both crystal and pressed-glass versions for dining rooms, vanities, sideboards, and formal tabletop display.
This example likely dates to the mid-20th century, c. 1940s–1960s, based on its molded crystal form, scalloped bobeche, twisted column, ribbed pedestal base, and prism-ready construction. No maker’s mark is visible in the provided photographs.

Why It Belongs In Your Home
This candlestick brings height, reflection, and old-world polish to a table, mantle, vanity, or bar cart. The twisted column and scalloped bobeche give it movement, while the prism holes allow the piece to be styled simply or dressed with hanging crystals for a more dramatic luster effect.
Use it alone as a single statement candlestick, or add crystal prisms to lean fully into the sparkle. It pairs beautifully with cut crystal, silver, green glass, old bottles, ironstone, and layered tabletop pieces that actually know how to catch light.
