Viridian Eclection — Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Viridian Eclection FAQ.
This guide answers the most common questions about purchasing antique furniture, restored vintage pieces, and one-of-a-kind home décor from our Reno-based studio.
ABOUT OUR PIECES
Are all of your pieces authentic antiques?
Yes. Every item at Viridian Eclection is an authentic antique or vintage piece, sourced from estate collections, auctions, and private sellers throughout the West Coast. We hand-select items for craftsmanship, provenance, and design potential, ensuring they meet boutique collector standards.
Do you restore the furniture yourselves?
Yes. All restoration and refinishing is performed in-house. Walter specializes in structural restoration, hand-finishing, and woodwork; Jessica leads artistic direction, color, styling, and design.
Our process transforms each piece into luxury restored furniture while preserving its character and history.
Are restored pieces still considered valuable antiques?
Yes—high-quality restoration often increases long-term value. We focus on preserving craftsmanship while elevating aesthetics for modern interiors. This combination makes our pieces highly collectible and sought-after by buyers looking for unique antique furniture in Reno and beyond.
PURCHASING & PRICING
Why are your prices higher than typical antique stores?
Because Viridian Eclection pieces represent:
→ Careful sourcing of rare and historic antiques
→ 30–80 hours of artisan restoration
→ High-end finishes, premium materials, and museum-quality detailing
→ One-of-one exclusivity
Each piece is both a functional object and a work of art.
Can I place a hold on an item?
Yes. A non-refundable retainer (typically 15%) will hold a piece for 48 hours. Extended holds may be available for larger items.
Do you accept offers or negotiate?
We generally do not negotiate on restored pieces due to the labor and materials invested. For raw, unrefinished antiques, we may consider reasonable offers depending on rarity, age, and condition.
CUSTOM WORK & COMMISSIONS
Can you restore or redesign a piece I already own?
Yes. We accept a limited number of custom projects per month. Clients in Reno and surrounding areas often bring us heirlooms or antique furniture in need of restoration, modernizing, or complete artistic transformation.
Can I request specific colors, finishes, or hardware?
Absolutely. You can choose colors, stains, textiles, hardware, and stylistic direction. We frequently create custom designs to suit mountain cabins, modern homes, historic interiors, and upscale residential spaces.
Do you provide design concepts for commissions?
Yes. We offer mood boards, color palettes, and mockups before beginning work. This ensures your restored piece matches your aesthetic and fits seamlessly into your space.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Do you offer shipping?
Because we specialize in large antiques and restored furniture, we do not offer standard parcel shipping. Customers arrange their own freight or white-glove delivery through carriers such as uShip, Plycon, or local movers.
Can you recommend freight providers?
Yes. We can share a list of carriers our clients have successfully used for antique furniture delivery.
Do you offer local pickup in Reno?
Yes. All pieces are available for scheduled pickup in Reno, NV. Customers should bring padding, blankets, or tie-downs suitable for transporting antique or restored furniture.
Do you help load items?
We assist when possible, but customers are responsible for safe transport and bringing appropriate equipment.
RETURNS, REFUNDS & POLICIES
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. Because our pieces are one-of-a-kind, we cannot accept returns or exchanges.
What if something is damaged during freight?
Freight carriers are fully responsible once the piece leaves our studio. We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance through your chosen carrier.
Can I cancel my order?
Orders may be canceled within 24 hours if the item has not yet been picked up by a freight provider.
CONDITION & RESTORATION DETAILS
Will restored pieces show imperfections?
Yes—and intentionally so. Natural patina, aging, and hand-finished surfaces are part of the charm of antique and vintage furniture. We preserve these elements while ensuring structural quality and aesthetic refinement.
What materials do you use?
We use professional-grade paints, stains, waxes, oils, and archival upholstery fabrics. Hardware is either original, vintage-correct, or carefully selected to complement the restoration.
How long do restorations take?
Custom restorations typically take 4–8 weeks depending on complexity, materials, and curing times.
BUYING ANTIQUES FROM VIRIDIAN ECLECTION
How do I know if a piece will fit in my home?
Dimensions for every item are included in the listing. We recommend taping out the footprint where the piece will sit and measuring doorways, hallways, and staircases.
Can you help me style a room using my purchase?
Yes. Jessica offers interior styling consultations for clients who need design support integrating antique or restored furniture into a modern home.
