SELL YOUR PIECE

We Buy Antiques in Reno and Lake Tahoe

A piece that has been in the family for three generations deserves more than a curbside listing. We buy period furniture, lighting, original art, and decorative objects across Northern Nevada — outright, or on consignment, depending on what serves the piece better.

What We Look For

Furniture
Built before 1980, with the construction to prove it — dovetailed drawers, solid stock or genuine veneer, maker's marks, retailer labels, patent plates. Art Deco through mid-century is our deepest interest, though a good Victorian piece will always get our attention.
Lighting
Chandeliers, sconces, and table lamps with original fittings. Murano, brass, tole, and period glass. Rewiring is our problem, not yours.
Original Art
Signed paintings, works on paper, and period frames. Verso inscriptions, gallery labels, and stretcher stamps are worth photographing — they are often what establishes the piece.
Mirrors and Casework
Giltwood, carved, and beveled mirrors. Sideboards, secretaries, campaign chests, and architectural casework with provenance.
Decorative Objects
Ironstone and studio ceramics, brass and copper, barware, clocks, and the small things that make a room feel collected rather than decorated.
Whole Estates
We will walk a property and take a position on the contents as a group. Faster for an executor than selling piece by piece.

What We Don't Buy

  • Particle board, laminate, and flat-pack
  • Reproduction furniture, however convincing
  • Mattresses, appliances, and general household goods
  • Anything with active pest, smoke, or mold damage
  • Mass-market furniture from the last two decades

If a house needs clearing rather than sorting, we will refer you to a liquidator or hauling service we work with directly. No charge, no obligation.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Send photographs

Full piece, any maker's marks or labels, and any damage. Measurements help. A bad photograph of a good piece costs you money.

  2. 2

    We review it

Within two business days you will hear what we think it is, roughly what it is worth, and which path fits. If we are unsure, we research it before answering.

  3. 3

We make you an offer, or point you elsewhere

Outright purchase, consignment at up to 60% to you, or an honest answer that another channel will serve you better. We would rather tell you that than underpay you.

  4. 4

    The piece comes to us

Delivery is arranged by you. For larger pieces within sixty miles of Reno, ask — we can often work something out.

Outright or Consignment

Outright Purchase

Immediate and certain. You are paid on collection and the piece becomes ours. Best for a single piece, a tight timeline, or an estate that needs to close.

Consignment

Slower, and generally worth more. Your share of net proceeds depends on where the piece is offered: 60% online only, 50% in our showroom and online, 40% where Faire is included. Settled within 30 days of the sale clearing, on a nine-month term. Best for a piece with a maker, a mark, or a story behind it.

Read the full terms

Which one we recommend depends on the piece, not on the margin. If a third channel will serve you better than either, we will say so.

For Estate Liquidators, Haulers, and the Trade

We hold standing arrangements with estate liquidators across Northern Nevada: you call before the truck is loaded, we come and take what is worth taking. It clears the property faster and keeps good pieces out of the landfill. If you clear houses for a living, we should be talking.

Send Us the Details

Tell us what you have and where it is. The more specific you are, the more useful our answer will be.

Photographs decide it. After you send this, reply to our response with images of the full piece, any maker's mark or label, and any damage. You can also send them directly to support@viridianeclection.com.

Every piece we take on is researched, photographed, and catalogued before it is offered. If we buy it, it enters the collection with its history attached — not a shelf with a sticker.
