Collector’s Care & Shipping Notice
Viridian Eclection — Antiques & Interiors — Curated. Timeless. Collected.
COLLECTOR’S CARE & SHIPPING NOTICE
A PIECE OF HISTORY

Every item offered by Viridian Eclection is individually curated and one of a kind. Because many pieces are vintage or antique, they may display age-appropriate chips, crazing, scratches, repairs, patina, finish variation, or other imperfections. These characteristics are part of each item’s story, provenance, authenticity, and historical character.

OUR PRESERVATION PHILOSOPHY

We preserve our pieces in their most original state whenever possible. We intentionally avoid unnecessary restoration or replacement of original materials because originality is often one of the most important contributors to historical significance and collectible value.

SHIPPING DAMAGE & CLAIMS
·Inspect your shipment immediately upon delivery.
·If transit damage is evident, retain the shipping box or crate, all packing materials, and every broken fragment.
·Photograph the exterior packaging, shipping labels, interior packing materials, and all damaged items before moving or discarding anything.
·Claims require sufficient documentation. Failure to retain packaging or provide photographs may prevent the carrier from approving a claim.
·Damage caused after delivery or during unpacking is not considered carrier damage.
THANK YOU

Thank you for helping preserve history. Every antique entrusted to a new home allows another piece of craftsmanship and history to continue its journey for future generations.

Vintage & Antique Lighting — Care, Use & Safety

VINTAGE & ANTIQUE LIGHTING — CARE, USE & SAFETY NOTICE

Thank you for choosing a piece of vintage or antique lighting from Viridian Eclection. Our restoration philosophy is preservation-first: retain the history, character, and original construction of a piece whenever it can be responsibly kept.

ORIGINAL HARDWARE & WIRING

Whenever reasonably possible, original sockets, switches, cords, wiring, fittings, and hardware are preserved. Components are replaced or upgraded only when necessary for function, condition, or responsible use. This approach helps protect the piece’s historical integrity, authenticity, and collectible character.

TESTED BEFORE SHIPMENT

Every lamp is tested for basic operation before leaving our facility and is confirmed to illuminate and function at the time of testing unless otherwise disclosed in the product listing. Because these are older electrical objects, transportation, age, outlets, bulbs, and environmental conditions can affect components after shipment.

A NOTE ON ORIGINALITY

Original wiring and hardware may reflect standards from a very different era. Preservation of original components is not the same as modern electrical certification. If you have any concern about a fixture, discontinue use and have it inspected by a qualified electrician or lighting professional familiar with vintage fixtures.

OUR PERSONAL PREFERENCE: SMART LIGHTING

Although we favor keeping historical pieces as original and wonderfully old-school as reasonably possible, we personally pair many antique and vintage lamps with smart LED bulbs, smart plugs, or compatible smart switches. This lets us schedule lighting and remotely confirm that a lamp has been switched off when we are away. It is simply our preference, not a requirement for ownership or use.

IMPORTANT SAFE-USE GUIDELINES
·Never leave vintage or antique lighting continuously illuminated while the home or property is unattended.
·Use new, appropriately sized LED bulbs whenever possible. Choose bulbs that remain cool or relatively cool in operation and never exceed the fixture’s recommended wattage.
·Keep lamps away from water, excessive moisture, curtains, bedding, paper, and other combustible or heat-sensitive materials.
·Periodically inspect plugs, cords, sockets, switches, and visible wiring for brittleness, cracking, discoloration, looseness, or excessive heat.
·Discontinue use immediately if you notice sparking, unusual heat, burning odor, damaged wiring, or abnormal electrical behavior.
PRESERVING THE PAST RESPONSIBLY

Vintage lighting was created in another era. Thoughtful ownership means appreciating its original craftsmanship while giving older electrical components the extra attention they deserve. Use your lamp responsibly, preserve its history, and enjoy the remarkable piece that has survived long enough to become part of your home.

This notice describes Viridian Eclection’s general care recommendations and pre-shipment testing practices. It is not an electrical safety certification, code-compliance inspection, or substitute for evaluation by a licensed electrician.

Artwork Preservation & Care Notice
Viridian Eclection — Antiques & Interiors — Curated. Timeless. Collected.
ARTWORK PRESERVATION & CARE NOTICE
ORIGINAL BACKING & HISTORICAL PROVENANCE

This artwork has intentionally not been re-backed. The original backing remains in place because it forms part of the historical integrity and provenance of the piece. Removing or replacing it may diminish the artwork’s collectible, historical, and market value.

Any replacement is solely at the purchaser’s discretion. Viridian Eclection strongly recommends leaving the original backing intact. If conservation work ever makes replacement necessary, preserve the original art dealer label or stamp and securely retain it with the painting so its documented history is not lost.

ORIGINAL FRAME & PAINT STABILITY

We strongly recommend against reframing this artwork or removing the canvas from its original frame. The paint surface already shows age-appropriate lifting, cracking, and flaking. Additional handling, vibration, pressure, or flexing may cause further and irreversible paint loss.

RECOMMENDED PRESERVATION

The preferred protective method is to place the entire framed artwork, without disturbing the canvas or original frame, inside a custom shadow box fitted with museum-grade UV-filtering glass or acrylic. This creates a protective enclosure while preserving the original presentation.

CARE & DISPLAY INSTRUCTIONS
·Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, furniture polish, oils, or restoration products.
·Never wipe the painted surface with a wet or damp cloth.
·Lightly dust only the frame using a clean, dry, very soft cloth.
·Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and away from prolonged ultraviolet exposure.
·Display and store at a stable room temperature in a dry, low-humidity environment.
·Avoid garages, attics, basements, bathrooms, exterior walls, and other damp or temperature-variable locations.
·Handle as little as possible and avoid impact, vibration, or pressure against the painted surface.
PRESERVATION DISCLAIMER

These recommendations are provided as general care guidance for an antique artwork in its present condition. Any restoration, reframing, backing replacement, cleaning, conservation treatment, or alteration undertaken after purchase is performed solely at the owner’s discretion and responsibility. For intervention beyond protective display, consult a qualified paintings conservator.

Antique Furniture & Wood Care Notice
Viridian Eclection — Antiques & Interiors — Curated. Timeless. Collected.
ANTIQUE FURNITURE & WOOD CARE NOTICE
ON PATINA

The surface of an antique — its color, depth, and the soft evidence of use — is patina earned through time. It is among the most important contributors to a piece’s historical significance and value, and once removed it cannot be recovered. Care for antique furniture is therefore gentle and infrequent by design.

ROUTINE CARE
·Dust with a clean, dry, very soft cloth. Avoid feather dusters, which can catch on lifting veneer.
·Do not use silicone sprays, aerosol polishes, oil soaps, or all-purpose cleaners; they darken finishes and complicate future conservation.
·If waxing is desired, apply a quality paste wax sparingly, once or twice a year at most, and buff fully.
·Use coasters, felt pads, and cloth beneath objects; wipe spills immediately with a dry cloth.
·Lift rather than drag. Lift case pieces from the lowest structural point, never by tops, galleries, or hardware.
ENVIRONMENT
·Keep out of direct sunlight, which bleaches wood and dries finishes.
·Position away from heat vents, radiators, fireplaces, and swamp-cooler outlets.
·Aim for stable, moderate humidity. High-desert air is dry; sudden changes cause shrinking, checking, and loose joints. A room humidifier in winter is a kindness to old wood.
HARDWARE & BRASS

Original pulls, escutcheons, and mounts are part of the piece’s documented history. We recommend leaving brass unpolished; the mellow surface is original and collectors prefer it. If a brighter finish is wanted, remove hardware before polishing so cleaner never touches the wood.

For structural repairs, veneer loss, or finish concerns, consult a qualified furniture conservator before any intervention. We are glad to recommend one.

Important information regarding carrier timing, delivery, inspection, and antique merchandise
DELIVERY AND CARRIER DISCLAIMER

All delivery dates, windows, and transit times are estimates supplied by the freight carrier. They may change due to routing, weather, road conditions, service interruptions, destination access, appointment availability, labor constraints, acts of government, or other circumstances outside Viridian Eclection’s direct control.

Once the shipment has been picked up and accepted by the carrier, custody, routing, appointment scheduling, and delivery timing are controlled by the carrier. Viridian Eclection cannot guarantee the carrier’s actual arrival date or time and is not responsible for delays occurring after pickup. We will provide available tracking information and reasonably assist with carrier communication when needed.

Any service described as guaranteed reflects the carrier’s commitment under its own tariff and terms. It is not a separate delivery guarantee issued by Viridian Eclection. Any claim for a carrier service failure remains subject to the carrier’s rules, exclusions, and claim procedures.

DELIVERY INSPECTION AND DAMAGE CLAIMS

The purchaser or receiving party must inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt. Note any visible damage, punctures, crushing, missing pieces, broken wrapping, shifted freight, or pallet damage directly on the carrier’s delivery receipt. When damage is visible, photographs should be taken before the shipment is moved or unpacked.

If concealed damage is discovered after unpacking, retain the item, pallet, crate, carton, padding, wrapping, straps, and all other packaging. Photograph the shipment as delivered, all packaging layers, the damaged area, and the full item. Notify Viridian Eclection and the carrier promptly. Carrier claim deadlines and documentation requirements apply, and failure to preserve packaging or document damage may affect claim eligibility.

ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE ITEM POLICY

By completing this purchase, the purchaser acknowledges that antique and vintage items are sold as described and may show age-related wear, patina, repairs, variations, and imperfections consistent with their history and use. All sales are final except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing by Viridian Eclection.

The purchaser confirms that the product description and available condition photographs have been reviewed before purchase. Normal signs of age are not considered freight damage. This agreement does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By approving the shipment and completing payment, the purchaser accepts the approved freight service and the carrier, inspection, damage-claim, and merchandise terms stated in this agreement.
