An early- to mid-20th-century American double (bi-fold) tabletop picture frame, crafted in pressed brass with original velvet-lined backing panels. Dating to c. 1925–1945, this frame was designed for desk, mantel, or bedside display, allowing two photographs or images to be presented simultaneously in a hinged, self-supporting form.

This is not a decorative afterthought or later novelty object. It is a purpose-built presentation frame, produced at a time when photographs were treated as permanent personal artifacts rather than disposable prints. The weight, materials, and construction reflect that intention.
