The relief work is intentional but restrained, adding visual interest without overwhelming the table. The floral rim was molded rather than painted, which gives the piece depth and durability while keeping the effect understated. The body is earthenware with a gently granular glaze.

Metlox Potteries was a cornerstone of California ceramics, producing dinnerware that balanced modern design with broad accessibility.
