The Piece
A washed black denim overall, cut full through the hip and thigh and tapering just enough at the ankle to cuff without bunching. The black has been washed down rather than left flat — it lifts to a soft charcoal along the seams, the pocket edges, and the crease lines, so it arrives already looking like something you have worn rather than something you just bought.
The bib carries a single deep patch pocket, and on it, our botanical V worked in cream thread: the same monogram that hangs on the door at the Morris. Straps run over the shoulder and adjust through metal sliders, buttoning through at the bib. At the waist there are belt loops and a buttoned tab on each side, so the fit can be taken in or let out without touching the straps. Two hand pockets sit at the front hip, deep enough to be useful rather than decorative.
It is a proper overall, not a costume version of one — the hardware is functional, the seams are flat-felled where they take load, and nothing about it is trying to look distressed.
The Making
We do not manufacture denim, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We chose this overall the same way we chose the apron: by ordering the alternatives, wearing them in the shop, and keeping the one that held its shape. Most of what we tried was either stiff enough to fight you for a month or thin enough to go through at the knee in a season. This one sits in the middle, which is the hard place to find.
The monogram is embroidered after the fact, one garment at a time, in cream thread against the black. It is the botanical V drawn for Viridian Eclection — a letterform grown through leaves and a rising bud, the same mark on our door, our paper, and the apron. Embroidery rather than print, because print sits on top of denim and eventually leaves; stitching goes into it and fades at the same rate as the cloth around it.
Everything in the Goods line is named for the Morris, the 1931 building on East Fourth Street where the shop lives. The Morris Apron came first. This is the second.

Why You'll Reach For It
An overall solves a problem that trousers do not: it covers the front of you, it carries things, and it never needs a belt or a second thought. We wear these in the shop for exactly that reason — hauling, refinishing, staging a window, standing on a ladder at eight in the morning. The bib pocket takes a phone, a tape measure, or a pencil, and the hip pockets take everything else.
Outside the shop it reads differently. Cuffed over a boot with a plain tee underneath, it is one of the few genuinely useful garments that also looks considered, and the washed black keeps it from tipping into farm-costume territory. It gets better with washing, which is the honest test of any denim. Buy it to work in and it will still be the thing you reach for on a Saturday.
Every piece is packed with professional-grade materials: multiple foam layers, double-boxing, directional and fragile handling labels. For large furniture we use custom timber crating. We photograph packing before dispatch and can provide images on request.

Antiques are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. Carrier handling is outside our control once a piece has left our facility, and major carriers including FedEx do not insure antiques. We do everything within our power to ensure safe transit, but cannot accept liability for carrier damage.
