The Piece
This vintage porcelain dessert plate was produced in Limoges, France, the historic center of French hard-paste porcelain, and dates to the 1930s–1940s. Made for export during the interwar and early post-war period, it reflects the refined yet approachable aesthetic that defined Limoges tableware intended for everyday elegance rather than formal service.
The plate features a softly scalloped rim with a delicate gold accent, framing an ivory ground decorated with romantic pink rose transfers and subtle botanical flourishes in lavender and green. The composition is balanced and restrained, allowing the decoration to feel graceful rather than ornate.
On the underside, the plate bears a Limoges export maker’s mark, along with a pattern number, confirming European manufacture and period authenticity.
This is a piece designed to feel light, decorative, and timeless—equally suited for display or gentle use.
