Product Description
A beautifully worn and practical mid-century knitting set, this mixed group of vintage needles is housed in a warm brown leather sleeve with a fitted cap, giving the collection the tidy, workshop-like feel of a well-kept maker’s tool roll. The set includes oversized wooden and metal knitting needles with examples marked Clover, Aero, and Inox, along with visible sizes including 19 / 15.0 mm, 9 mm, and 5.5 mm / US 9.
The strongest dating clue in the group is the Clover marking. Clover’s corporate history traces the company to 1925, with the brand name shifting to Clover Saihougu Co., Ltd. in 1958 and then to Clover Mfg. Co., Ltd. in 1964, which supports a comfortable mid-century date for at least part of the set. The leather case and overall presentation also fit well within a c. 1950s-1960s aesthetic, even if the individual needles appear to be an assembled working group rather than a single originally matched retail set.
Rather than diminishing it, that mixed-brand character gives the piece more authenticity. It feels like a real knitter’s kit, built over time, used with purpose, and kept together in a handsome case. Today it works equally well as a functional tool set, a textile studio accent, or a collectible piece of mid-century craft history.

Antiques are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. Carrier handling is outside our control once a piece has left our facility, and major carriers including FedEx do not insure antiques. If damage occurs in transit, we will provide full documentation to support your carrier claim.
