There’s a certain kind of beauty that only comes from pattern, precision, and time. This vintage Spanish marquetry coaster captures all three. Featuring an intricate geometric inlay, the surface is composed of carefully cut and arranged wood veneers in warm walnut tones, deep browns, and subtle accents of red and green—forming a striking starburst motif rooted in traditional Andalusian design.
The hexagonal form gives it a sculptural presence beyond its function, making it feel more like an object than an accessory. Whether used beneath a glass, a small vessel, or simply styled on a stack of books, it brings a sense of craftsmanship and cultural depth to any space.
What makes this piece especially compelling is its story. Handwritten on the underside, it notes that it was brought back from Spain as a Christmas gift in 1992. That small detail transforms it from a decorative object into something more personal—something collected, traveled, and kept.
It’s the kind of piece that doesn’t try to stand out, but inevitably does. Subtle, detailed, and quietly rich in character.

Why It Belongs in Your Home
This is the kind of detail that makes a space feel layered instead of styled. It brings in craftsmanship, history, and just enough visual complexity to catch the eye without overwhelming it. Small objects like this are what separate a home that looks decorated from one that feels collected. It’s subtle, but it does a lot of work.
