A bold little piece of roadside Americana, this vintage Texas souvenir decal captures the graphic charm of mid-century travel ephemera in one compact design. Featuring the state of Texas, cowboy imagery, and the phrase “The Lone Star State,” it was made as a water-slide transfer decal, complete with original backing and application instructions from Baxter Lane Co. of Amarillo, Texas.
Bright, nostalgic, and unmistakably regional, it is the kind of piece that works beautifully framed, archived, or added to a collection of vintage travel souvenirs and western ephemera. A small object, but one with plenty of attitude. Humans do love putting mythology on paper and calling it tourism.
