Product Overview
The Piece
Late 20th-century frosted glass floral table lamp.
Pressed or molded glass globe body with raised rose relief, black base, gold-tone trim, and amber fabric shade.
Working when photographed, with warm decorative glow.
This vintage accent lamp features a frosted glass globe body decorated with raised floral and rose motifs. The glass has a soft translucent finish, with matte floral relief set against clearer molded panels, giving the body a layered cut-crystal-inspired look without needing to pretend it’s Lalique and invite the collector police.
The lamp sits on a black circular base with gold-tone trim and is paired with an amber fabric shade finished with black vertical trim and scrollwork. When lit, the shade casts a warm golden tone while the frosted glass body glows softly from below, making it well suited for a bedroom, vanity, dressing room, side table, or moody interior vignette.

Condition + Updates
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The frosted floral glass body appears intact from the provided photos, with the rose relief and molded detail presenting clearly. The black base and gold-tone trim show light surface wear consistent with use.
The amber shade is present and visually compatible with the lamp, with some edge irregularity and wear visible along the lower trim. The lamp was working when photographed. As with all vintage lighting, the cord, socket, plug, and electrical components should be reviewed before regular use. Because “it lit up once” is not the same thing as “please trust 40-year-old wiring with your house,” unfortunately.
Historical Context
Decorative floral glass table lamps became popular in late-20th-century interiors, especially in traditional, romantic, and boudoir-inspired rooms. Molded and frosted glass allowed manufacturers to recreate the look of carved floral crystal at a more accessible price point, often pairing glass bodies with warm fabric shades, black bases, and gold-tone trim.
This piece reflects that late 1980s to 1990s decorative lighting style: soft glow, floral relief, traditional silhouette, and warm shade color. It was made less as a stark utility lamp and more as an atmosphere piece, which is designer-speak for “this lamp understands mood better than most people.”
Why This Belongs in Your Home
This lamp brings warmth, texture, and softness to a room. The frosted glass body adds sculptural detail, while the amber shade creates a warm, intimate glow that works beautifully in bedrooms, vanities, reading corners, dressing rooms, or guest spaces.
It pairs well with dark wood, velvet, brass, antique mirrors, floral textiles, lacquered furniture, and romantic traditional interiors. Used as accent lighting, it gives a space that collected, evening-lit quality people keep trying to fake with sterile LED strips. Humanity persists, but at least this lamp is trying.
