A large scale framed photographic work by Julie Anderson, titled Girl With A Hat, dated 1983 and associated with Saint Louis Ballet.
The image presents a softly rendered female figure seen from behind, standing in a quiet interior with a hat held at her side. The form is atmospheric and restrained, blurred at the edges, with the tonal delicacy of charcoal, pastel and the silver photographic process. The composition carries the stillness of a dressing room, a stage entrance, or the suspended pause before performance.
