Product Overview
he Piece
This vintage studio pottery mug is a tactile, grounded example of mid-century American stoneware, finished in warm ochre and olive tones with a deeply raised floral and scroll motif that wraps the body in rhythmic symmetry.
The surface decoration is not painted on. It is relief-formed, giving the mug a sculptural quality that feels intentional in the hand. The glaze settles into the recessed pattern in a darker tone, creating contrast without shine or fuss. Inside, a smooth off-white glaze keeps the drinking surface clean and functional.
The handle is generously sized and comfortably pulled, with a matte olive glaze that complements the body without distracting from it. Unmarked on the base, which is typical of studio and small-batch pottery from the 1960s–1970s, especially pieces produced for form and daily use rather than branding.
This is not dainty. It is meant to be held.

Why It Belongs in Your Home
Because mugs should feel earned. This piece fits effortlessly into kitchens that value texture, warmth, and objects with presence. It works just as well on an open shelf as it does in actual rotation, and it pairs beautifully with handmade ceramics, wood, linen, and natural light.
Also, it makes everything taste better. That’s just how pottery works.
