The Piece
This vintage turquoise glass table lamp is a striking example of sculptural lighting rooted in Art Deco and early mid-century modern design. The base features a bold, stepped silhouette with softly rounded shoulders and vertical ribbing, creating a sense of architectural rhythm without relying on applied decoration.
The glass is a rich turquoise blue, glossy and deeply saturated, with excellent depth that shifts subtly under light. Rather than appearing flat or opaque, the color glows from within when illuminated, emphasizing the lamp’s form and presence. Natural age-related character within the glass adds authenticity and visual interest.
The base is grounded by a brass-toned metal foot, which provides warmth and contrast against the cool turquoise glass. Finished with a tailored neutral fabric shade, the lamp casts a soft, ambient light that highlights the sculptural qualities of the base while remaining fully functional for daily use.
This is a statement lamp. It is meant to anchor a space, not blend into it.
