The Piece
A figure stepping out of noise she did not choose. Behind her the artist paints emotional storms and broken promises as worked, turbulent colour; ahead of her the canvas quiets down. The composition is built on that contrast and very little else.
This is Allibe using her negative-space rule structurally rather than decoratively. Roughly a third of the surface is left open, and it is all placed in front of the figure — so the painting reads as direction rather than portraiture. Thirty by forty inches, one unexpected emotional note against a warm ground.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years — more than 150 works, almost none of them sold — before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio, with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.

Why It Belongs in Your Home
The open field in front of the figure gives this painting more air than its dimensions suggest, which makes it one of the easier large works to place in a room that is already full. Hang it so the empty side has somewhere to go — toward a window or an opening rather than into a corner.
Available for private viewing at The Morris Hotel Building, Reno. Trade and design enquiries welcome.

All antique and vintage items are sold as described and all sales are final. Each listing includes detailed condition notes and photographs so you can make a fully informed decision. We encourage buyers to ask questions — about condition, dimensions, finish, provenance — before purchasing.
Antiques are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. Carrier handling is outside our control once a piece has left our facility, and major carriers including FedEx do not insure antiques. We do everything within our power to ensure safe transit, but cannot accept liability for carrier damage. If damage occurs in transit, we will provide full documentation to support your carrier claim.
Have a question? — we're happy to provide additional photos, condition detail, or discuss the piece directly.
