Acrylic on canvas, thirty by forty inches. Of all the figures in the collection this is the one Allibe paints with the most restraint, and the restraint is the point: a woman who chose a life that would ask everything of her, and was defined afterwards not by what she lost but by what she rebuilt.
Acrylic behaves differently under her hand than the oils do. It dries fast, which forces the single confident stroke her method demands and leaves no room for the timid correction she prohibits. The result is a cooler, cleaner surface than the mixed media works — less scraping, more decision. The face is composed rather than dissolved, which makes this one of the more legible paintings in the group, and a good entry point for a collector who finds the fully unresolved figures difficult.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years, producing more than 150 works that never entered the market, before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio, with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.
