Clara was born in Córdoba to a German father and an Argentinian mother — an engineer who taught her structure and a poet who taught her compassion. Allibe paints the inheritance rather than the person: order and warmth held in the same picture without either winning.
You can read it in the handling. The underlying structure is deliberate and squared-up; the colour laid over it is loose, warm and allowed to run. The face is unresolved in the artist's usual way, so what remains is the tension between the two halves of a temperament. Twenty-four by thirty inches — an intimate scale for a portrait with this much argument in it.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years — more than 150 works, almost none of them sold — before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio, with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.
