Eyes sharp as cut glass, mouth curled into the soft promise of a smirk. Amara Vélin came out of the fractured corners of Marseille and now moves through couture houses and ateliers — and unlike almost every other figure in Allibe's work, she meets the viewer head on.
That makes it the most confrontational painting in the collection and the one with the most obvious commercial pull. The artist still withholds: the features are not all finished, the ground is emotional rather than architectural, and one unexpected colour does the work. But the gaze is complete, and it holds. Thirty-six inch square.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years — more than 150 works, almost none of them sold — before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio, with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.
