The Piece
The loudest painting in the collection, and deliberately so. Where most of Allibe's figures withdraw, this one arrives — saturated colour, oversized eyewear, a palette that refuses to apologise for itself. Mixed media on canvas at thirty by forty inches.
The subject, in the artist's telling, is a woman who spent years editing herself — softening opinions, lowering her voice, making herself easier to accept — and then stopped. The painting is built the same way she describes the decision: confident single strokes, no timid correction, nothing walked back. Even here the rules hold. The features are not all finished, the ground is emotional rather than architectural, and one unexpected colour carries the composition against the warm field. It is extravagant without being decorative, which is a genuinely difficult thing to pull off.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years, producing more than 150 works that never entered the market, before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.

Why It Belongs in Your Home
This is the piece for a room that has gone too tasteful. Against neutral walls and quiet upholstery it does the work an accent chair is usually asked to do and fails at — it gives the scheme a pulse. Strong enough for an entry, a bar, or a dressing room; too assertive for a space where you want the furniture to be the subject.
Available for private viewing at The Morris Hotel Building, Reno. Trade and design enquiries welcome.
Every piece is packed with professional-grade materials: multiple foam layers, double-boxing, directional and fragile handling labels. For large furniture we use custom timber crating. We photograph packing before dispatch and can provide images on request.
White-glove delivery is complimentary within 100 miles of Reno, NV. National shipping quotes provided at checkout. All shipments are photographed and documented. Damage claims must be filed with the carrier; we provide all documentation needed to support your claim.
Local pickup is available at Viridian HQ (Reno, NV) with 2–4 days notice. Contact us to arrange. Private viewings also available.
All antique and vintage items are sold as described and all sales are final. Each listing includes detailed condition notes and photographs so you can make a fully informed decision. We encourage buyers to ask questions — about condition, dimensions, finish, provenance — before purchasing.
Antiques are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. Carrier handling is outside our control once a piece has left our facility, and major carriers including FedEx do not insure antiques. We do everything within our power to ensure safe transit, but cannot accept liability for carrier damage. If damage occurs in transit, we will provide full documentation to support your carrier claim.
Have a question? — we're happy to provide additional photos, condition detail, or discuss the piece directly.
