The Piece
At thirty-six by forty-eight inches this is one of the largest works in the collection, and the scale is doing something specific: the figure meets you at close to life size, which is why the picture reads as an encounter rather than a decoration.
The subject is a woman the artist describes as still arriving — elegance worn with the confidence of someone who has not quite claimed it yet. A hat shades the eyes. Allibe is explicit that the hat is not concealment: it marks the difference between what we see and what we choose to understand. The face, as always in her work, is left unresolved, and here the withholding is the whole subject. The composition is built in confident single strokes with no timid correction, warm ground carrying one unexpected emotional note, and a generous portion of the canvas left quiet.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years, producing more than 150 works that never entered the market, before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio — artist to dealer to collector, no intermediate hands — with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.

Why It Belongs in Your Home
This is a room-defining picture — the piece a scheme is built around rather than one that fills a gap. Over a console, at the end of a long hall, or on the single tall wall of an open plan, it carries the distance and rewards the approach.
Available for private viewing at The Morris Hotel Building, Reno. Trade and design enquiries welcome.
Every piece is packed with professional-grade materials: multiple foam layers, double-boxing, directional and fragile handling labels. For large furniture we use custom timber crating. We photograph packing before dispatch and can provide images on request.
White-glove delivery is complimentary within 100 miles of Reno, NV. National shipping quotes provided at checkout. All shipments are photographed and documented. Damage claims must be filed with the carrier; we provide all documentation needed to support your claim.
Local pickup is available at Viridian HQ (Reno, NV) with 2–4 days notice. Contact us to arrange. Private viewings also available.
All antique and vintage items are sold as described and all sales are final. Each listing includes detailed condition notes and photographs so you can make a fully informed decision. We encourage buyers to ask questions — about condition, dimensions, finish, provenance — before purchasing.
Antiques are irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind. Carrier handling is outside our control once a piece has left our facility, and major carriers including FedEx do not insure antiques. We do everything within our power to ensure safe transit, but cannot accept liability for carrier damage. If damage occurs in transit, we will provide full documentation to support your carrier claim.
Have a question? — we're happy to provide additional photos, condition detail, or discuss the piece directly.
