The Piece
Elinor comes from the northern fjords, where silence is not emptiness but strength. She learned early to keep her innermost thoughts folded behind a calm expression — and then was betrayed by people she trusted.
Allibe paints the composure and lets the damage show in the surface instead of the face. The palette runs cold, which is unusual for her: most of the collection is built on a warm ground, and here the warmth is the exception rather than the field. Scraped passages open beneath the calm. Twenty-four by thirty inches, and the quietest painting she has released.
History & Provenance
Kat Allibe is a French-born contemporary painter working in Reno, Nevada, and the originator of Emotional Impressionism. She painted privately for over thirty years — more than 150 works, almost none of them sold — before entering formal study at the Milan Art Institute in 2025.
Viridian Eclection is her private dealer. This painting comes directly from the studio, with a certificate of authenticity issued and signed by the artist.
